DJay’s Story

“Managing DJay’s condition would be very difficult if we didn’t have the Children’s hospital here in Mississippi.”

DJay was diagnosed with Sickle Cell shortly after birth. His first appointment at the Children’s Cancer Clinic was at 3 months. His first admission was right after his first birthday. Since then he’s been admitted numerous times related to pain crises, pneumonia, and other Sickle Cell related issues. He receives blood transfusions at the clinic every five weeks. Managing DJay’s condition would be very difficult if we didn’t have the Children’s hospital here in Mississippi.

Fun Fact: DJay’s younger sister Mady likes to tag along and “steal” the show. If you were at our 2019 Dance Marathon, you may remember her singing Frozen’s “Let It Go” on stage.
